As the development of communication technology, spectrum resources become crowded. Modern communication systems for channel capacity requirements are growing, the unique advantage of millimeter wave bands attracts more attention. Development of millimeter wave technology promotes the rapid development of the monolithic integrated circuit, and it has been widely used in Military Radar, Missile Guidance and Electronic Warfare Systems.This paper focuses on 8mm-band Frequency Synthesizer and Receiver Front-end Systems Research and Design. Among them, Frequency Synthesizer uses quadruple proposal and PLL technology to achieve. Receiver Front-end System is a standard down conversion component, which includes Millimeter Wave Mixer, low Noise Amplifier and IF Amplifier. All modules are designed around integrated circuit chip, in order to achieve high norm and miniaturization requirements of system design.The first part of this thesis is about 8mm-band frequency synthesizer. Firstly, it expounded the principles and constitution of PLL according to Frequency of Source Theory. Secondly, develop the design and system simulation based on the indicator. Frequency synthesizer uses CP-PLL chip with integrated VCO, in order to achieve low phase noise frequency output. Finally, the test result is that Signal Frequency is 8.625GHz, power is 13.21dBm, phase noise is-100dBc in 10KHz. The signal is quadrupled to reach the millimeter wave band, realizes 8mm-band Frequency Synthesizer Module Design. In final test, signal frequency is 34.5GHz, power is 9.88dBm.The second part of the thesis is based on the Receiver Front-end System, it includes the design and simulation of mixer, LNA and the IF amplifier. It focuses on the principle of double balanced mixer and the simulation transition circuits. The final production and testing of 8mm-band Receiver System, achieved good results. The receiver IF frequency is 500-1500MHz, noise figure is less than 5dB, gain is greater than 40dB.Finally, the design of the system and test results are summarized, system deficiencies are analyzed and improvements are proposed.
