A Study On The Survival And Development Of Radio And TV In Taicang Under The Background Of Triple Play

Triple-play refers to the combination of “telecom, television and Internet”. With the rapid development of Internet technologies, triple-play has taken substantial strides in the field of mass media in more than a decade. During the formation of triple-play, the broadcasting industry is the weakest part among the three above. And county-level TV stations are in the bottom position of broadcasting agencies. Therefore, under the pressure of triple-play strong media, it remains an unavoidable topic for each county-level TV station to make this industry bigger and stronger from their own situation. According to the writer’s knowledge, the broadcasting corporation in Taicang, a Jiangsu city whose economy ranks at the top among all the county-level cities, still has not made obvious achievements despite its positive action in the construction of their own new media platform under the trend of triple-play. As a result, this paper made Taicang Broadcasting Corporation(hereinafter referred to as TBC) as the research object, and will learn about the disadvantages of TBC through on-the-spot investigation. On this basis, the writer is to put forward with countermeasures with the traits of communication and media under the background of triple-play, in order to offer references for future developments of Chinese county-level TV stations.
