The prism-based surface plasma resonance (SPR) sensor has been widely applied in the fields of measuring, biology, medicine and so on. And the advantages such as high sensitivity, real testing ability, easy implement are presented when it combines the technology of angle scanning. Currently, the conventional scheme of angle scanning is operated by turning a single prism which results in the turning of the reflected lights and receivers. It obviously increases the complexity of configuration and operation, and maybe brings a deduction of measuring accuracy. So, with the goal of enhancing the accuracy and stability, the researching work based angle-modulation is developed in a novel Kretschmann prism-based SPR experimental system, and this work is partially supported by National Science Foundation. (1) According to the feature of parallel shifting of the light in dual-prism configuration, the fixed-point-input of the sensing probe is realized in the same area of gold film. It avoids the effect of the shift of polarized light and achieves the signal-gathering by the fixed receivers. (2) In the input port, a He-Ne laser is collimated through multimode SMA fiber and collimator. In receiving port, the power fluctuation of optical source is decreased by the reference light and synchronized data collecting card. Besides, we control the turning desk and data collecting card by Labview program. Then the demarcation of original angle and the data collection/buffering/display are performed automatically. Due to the improvements in input source, prism and receivers, the whole stability and sensitivity of the designed system is enhanced. And the experimental results obtained have a certain values in theory and application for the SPR study.
