A Study On The Image Of Journalists In Contemporary TV And TV Plays

Reporters are the main carriers of information dissemination and the bridge connecting facts with the mass,they were once called”uncrowned king”and “commoner prime minister”.but in recent years, the frequent reports of adverse events on the journalist by various media have complicated their image in people’s minds. Studies suggest that reports’ image has come into a crisis. Meanwhile,reporters have gradually gain the popularity among creators of literature and art,the role of journalists has been set up in a lot of movies and TV series.The portrait of the reporter reproduced by creator is an reflection of their real life. But in reality,the audience get to know the reports’ image through the media coverage on one hand and the personal contact with them in the film works on the other. Image of the reporter on TV and in the press is an important approach to public awareness of them.Then how the journalists’ image are shown in the film and television play, whether it is truly reflected and exerts an influence in the real life worth studying.Based on the film and television play,the author focuses on the relationship between the reporters’ image in the real life and on TV.Firstly,the author gets started from the journalists’ image in the real life and sums it up by taking advantage of the researches and studies on the living conditions and image of the reporter by the scholar and media.Next,making a conclusion on the image of the reporter in the film through the analysis of 130 journalists’ image displayed in 100 films.Finally,comparing the images and analyzing the real reflection and undue deviation of the two,the deviated part from the real reporter’ image may mislead the public perception. Based on this analysis, the author puts froward the strategy of reconstructing the reporters’ image which is diverged from reality and objective in the film and television play.
