Abstract/Summary:
The widely accepted definition by the academia for Library Microblog is that it refers to a platform created by the librarians or librarians oriented teams through microblogging technologies, which provides multi-functional information services for information consumers. It supports uploading and publishing of personalized service information via text or multimedia, the format of which includes book publications, bibliography recommendations, book reviews, open lectures, reference and consulting navigation, etc.Based on the review and analyze of existing literature, online data up till November 20 th of 2014 are accumulated and analyzed. All users data related to University and College Microblog are extract from Sina Microblog, among which, the authorized users are the main focus. Based on several correlated characteristics, the overall Library Microblog current status and performances are precisely and comprehensively evaluated.Based on the analysis of the survey, the research samples needed by this paper are filtered out. This study is also based on the theory of hg Index. According to the applicable fields of this paper, a new criterion using hg index is proposed to judge whether a microblog is hot or not. According to the above results, this paper classifies the hot microblogs of sampled University or College Microblog through the calculated results by hg index, whose goal is to clear the influence of developing trends, contents’ constructions and interaction formats to University and College Library Microblog. Then, several suggestions, which surges the information service performance of University and College libraries, are proposed for the development of University and College Library Microblog in future.
