As an important application carrier of stamping equipment, stamping production line plays an extremely important role in China’s industrial system. With the rapid development of various related discipline and technology, fieldbus technology as an open, fully distributed control network is popular in recent years. The automation of stamping production line is achieved based on the field bus technology so as to realize the decentralized control of high-speed and flexible, which is a hot topic of the current field of industrial control. The development of electronic control system in stamping production line established using field bus technology not only accords with the industrial automation trends but also is a very practical and feasible project.In this paper, according to performance needs of the domestic automobile automated production lines, a robot control system based on field bus is established by researching the situations of stamping production line at home and abroad to achieve the handling control of press plate member and monitoring of production data in stamping workshop. Firstly, the principle and structure of communication are analyzed from the field bus technology of PROFIBUS. Then the PLC system of S7 series, the human machine interaction and the principle structure and control method of ABB robot are systematic researched. Finally, the control system is applied to the stamping production line of a car factory, which is introduced as follows. The automation and control scheme for stamping production line is proposed based on field bus control technology Profibus-DP as well as Siemens S7-400 series PLC and ABB robotics. The first layer of the bi-layer network control system is the control layer, and the second layer is the equipment on-site execution layer. The selection of system hardware, the design of the electrical circuit and software development and download are completed. Simultaneous real-time control of the system PLC and robot is realized. At the same time, a monitor screen to communicate with PLC is designed using the graphic design software GP-PRO EX based on the man-machine interface Proface. At last, the human-computer interaction of illustrations is realized.The results show that the research project not only can reduce the labor intensity of production but also enhance the product quality and production efficiency of production line. At the same time, the research not only improve the degree of automation, but also enrich the application of the Profibus fieldbus technology.
