Research On Landscape Design Of The Elderly Outdoor Activities Ground

Since the late 20 th century, China was gradually involved in the aging society, and thus caused a series of social problems that have been the current focus of society. The elderly is the important part of the social group, whose physical and mental health is closely tied to the harmonious happiness of each family. One country will be prosperous and flourishing only if the family is harmonious and happy. Therefore, the important factor is to build up a harmonious society, fulfill the scientific view of development, and solve the aging problem well. One of the solutions of the aging problem is to construct suitable outdoor activities ground for the elderly, since excellent ground can provide physical and mental health of the elderly with a powerful guarantee.This paper starts from the physiological and psychological characteristics of the elderly and integrates the human action space theory to work out the action space theory specific to the elderly. Additionally, landscape design elements of the elderly outdoor activities ground and the ground design theory are also analyzed. Based on the theory,field research is combined with the elderly apartment and outdoor activities ground of West Yanta, East Yanta, Around-city Park and Beijing Oriental Sun City to conclude the principle and method of designing the outdoor activities ground for the elderly.Finally, design strategies in terms of the elderly outdoor activities ground are concluded by virtue of the content of theoretical research and field research.
