The Space Morphogenesis Maps Research On Ancient City Of Hancheng

Chinese historical cities have its own unique cultural and spatial characteristics,this spatial characteristics conservation, protection and development is crucial for the sustainable development of cities. In the urban renewal process of the ancient cities,partial situation has improved,while the overall situation getting worse, and many changes are irreversible, unrecoverable.Hancheng, is one of a few ancient cities preserving well in China, is the best preserved ancient city in Shaanxi Province. After 1985, Hancheng was identified as the second batch of Chinese historical and cultural cities, Hancheng urban plan and the subsequent urban plan both had implemented a "new- old separation" policy, and a number of functions in the new city had replaced into the ancient city, which made the ancient city gradually begin to decay. Then the protection of the ancient city were launched for the historical areas with tearing down a large number of historical relics,which definitely ignores the overall urban spatial protection.This paper carries morphology, typology and related theories, establishing concepts about morphogenesis, research methods and a framework. Then take a diachronic description of the spatial form for the ancient city and a classification research for the material space form. And find space form with the "hereditary" and constant spatial characteristics from four aspects- frame, core, axis, group by showing classified diagram, in order to establish Hancheng space morphogenesis map.Establishing morphogenesis map will help to find the essential regularity of space form, to maintain its characteristics in the planning and design, which has important guiding significance for this historical city of Hancheng, especially for the old town.
