Study On Vernacular Architecture Of Pile-dwelling In Pan-southeast Asia In The Background Of Exchange Of Cross-cultural Circle

Following the theory of global history, this thesis begins with the exchange of cross-cultural circle and summarizes the Characters of space form, structural system and form of roof of pile-dwelling in southeast Asia with numbers of examples. It discusses effects to pile-dwelling in southeast Asia from both local factor and exchange of cross-cultural circle. It aims to give help to both architecture design and transformation and re-use of traditional vernacular architecture in current day. The five parts of the thesis are as following:part I, the significance and research method of the topic,part II, introduction of cultural circle, pile, part III, summary of characters of space form, structural system and form of roof of pile-dwelling, part IV, effects of local factors like unique environment of southeast Asia, building materials, and the local religion, part V, effects of exchange of cross-cultural circle to pile dwelling and ways of exchange.The whole thesis contains46000characters,55pictures and1tables.
