With the input in large-scale container vessels and the trunk cooperation deepening between container liner companies, the world’s major container liner companies gradually narrow the differences on the service of trunk. So the construction, management and operation of feeder network such as regional lines in Southeast Asia become the strategic choice for container liner companies to foster core competencies and enhance competitive advantage. There are11countries in Southeast Asia, with a total area of4470square kilometers and a population of about5.3million, whose geographic location connects3continents and2oceans and annual import and export volume exceeds more than500million TEUS. Nowadays, in the shipping environment of little difference in basic port’s services and increasingly transparent ocean freight, the regional lines in Southeast Asia becomes particularly important, it can not only increase the regional market development of large, medium and small ports etc, provide transportation within the region, but also can greatly enrich the trunk resource in order to make a sufficient shipments complement for the further upgrade of trunk capacity, so that it will help the container liner companies to achieve the purpose of enhancing market competitiveness. This article begins from describing regional lines in Southeast Asia, and analyzes the area’s natural geographic location, port conditions, political culture, economic and trade laws, shipping organizations, cargo volume, lines capacity etc and then use quantitative methods (regression model) to predict and research the cargo volume of this region. This article is based on the operation and practice of "A" container liner company’s liner sevice in Southeast Asia and combines with the strategic theory of enterprise’s development. Through the linear programming method, this article studies the optimized program of "A" container liner company’s fleet deployment in Southeast Asia and provides suggestions for its operation and management.
