Research On Risk Control Of Hydropower Projects In Southeast Asia

In recent years,with the acceleration of economic globalization and the implementation of China’s "one belt and one way" strategy,more and more Chinese enterprises have gone abroad to open up hydropower market.At present,Chinese enterprises have established good cooperative relations with hundreds of countries and regions,and hydropower investment occupies more than 50%of the international hydropower market.It has become a great force in leading and promoting the development of hydropower in the world.Southeast Asia is adjacent to China and has abundant hydropower resources,but hydropower development lacks funds,the degree of development is low,and the level of development is backward.Capital and technology have become the biggest bottleneck restricting hydropower development in Southeast Asia,which brings good investment opportunities to Chinese enterprises with rich hydropower development experience.In addition,with the rapid economic development in Southeast Asia and the rising demand for electricity in recent years,China’s electricity trade cooperation with Southeast Asian countries is also deepening.At present,more than 125 hydropower projects have been invested by hydropower development enterprises in Southeast Asia.However,due to the large investment,long period and wide influence range of hydropower projects,the investment risk of hydropower projects is invisible and can not be ignored.Especially in Southeast Asia,where there are many uncertain factors such as politics,economy and society,the investment and operation of hydropower projects are facing many unpredictable risks.While expatiating on the related theories of risk management of foreign-related hydropower projects at home and abroad,this paper makes a detailed analysis of the present situation of investment and development of hydropower projects in Southeast Asia and the characteristics of project risk,and analyzes and identifies the risk factors encountered in the process of project development through the development background of Mitsong hydropower project and the project risk factors.Based on the analysis and evaluation of the risk factors faced by Chinese enterprises in the hydropower projects in Southeast Asia,in this paper,a targeted solution strategy is proposed.
