Chinatowns have a history of being a portrayal and microcosm of China.Chinatowns are a gathering place for Chinese culture and are the primary entry point for most foreigners in understanding Chinese culture.This paper will explore the protection and renewal of Chinatowns,and provide inspiration and reference for the future developmental direction of Chinatowns in Indonesia and other parts of the world.This paper introduces the historical evolution of Chinatowns,and analyzes the urban development history of Jakarta;In addition,it discusses the renewal design theory and method of the historical style of Chinatowns in various countries.Using Jakarta Chinatown in Indonesia as a case study,it will analyze the renewal strategy,current situation,historical value,development potential,regional positioning,and other conclusions,combined with the design and construction of Chinese cultural characteristics to achieve regional cultural diversity /cultural characteristics and regional activities.This paper,through The examination of spatial renewal,transformation to stimulate residents’ awareness,protection of cultural values,will study the achievement of the revitalization of regional vitality and cultural diversity as the ultimate goal in the renewal of historical features.At the end of the article,the research results are summarized and prospected.The full text consists of about 31721 words and 56 pictures.
