The Development Of Tropical Gardens In Southeast Asia

The thesis is based on two lines of stages and types of tropical gardens in Southeast Asia.The thesis disserts the development of tropical gardens and focuses on the excellent examples of different garden types.The thesis discusses the form background,the influence of different factors and the characters of tropical gardens in each stage.The tropical gardens in Southeast Asia have been gone through the phases of appearance,development and change.The complex history,multi-culrures,as well as religions which connect tightly with the society in this region make the tropical gardens more special.In the early times,the main types are royal gardens and religion gardens.In colonial times,westers brought the garden arts into Southeast Asia,and private gardens for pure pleasure appeared.After the second Word,tourism in this region develop quickly which accelerate the development of hotal gardens and resort gardens.Nowadays,though the development of tropical gardens in Southeast Asia also face the chellenge of global impact,the local garden designers try their best to create national gardens.
