In recent years, with the flight of traffic and the total amount of the travling passengers increasing, whether on the pilot levels or ATC levels, both of the existing problems put forward a higher requirement for running of the exist procedures. So the visual separation and the visual approach implemented as a new navigation technology emerged in this particular situation.By studying the visual flight relevant regulations, guidelines and characteristics, combining Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport’s actual area navigation approach, this paper establish the flight error model, using Matlab simulation tool to determine the width of RVFP. And with this conclusion, this paper studied and designed a visual circling procedures of Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport, provides visual traffic pattern and track visual maneuvering procedures and RVFP.Visual approach is inseparable from the implementation of coordination and cooperation between pilots and controllers. The design of RVFP and the boundaries of control tower to determine are inseparable. Based on the Chinese Civil Aviation Authority Decree122, referring to the advanced design experience, this paper studies the designated limits and requirements of Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport control tower and then confirms the range the control zones. The paper gives an analysis of errors, advantages and disadvantages between the traditional topics topographical maps, Google Earth satellite maps and the maps based on digital elevation model (DEM). Finally, the paper uses the digital elevation model (DEM) of Arcgis GIS, building Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport’s terrain modeling, and using this as a base map to draw the basic map of VFR. Through the above of the studies of visual routes, airport control zones and basic map of VFR, this paper provides a reference for the other airports’visual flight procedures’ design and a support for the Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport’s next visual approach run.
