The Research Of Psychological Space Of Architecture Based On Visual Perception

In learning about the world,80%of information we receive principally engage one of our senses.sight. Brain power systems reorganize the visual information from the objective physical word and cast a virtual space surrounded by transparent and fuzzy interfaces.That’s Psychological Space of Architecture. As one of the vital theory of art field, Visual Perception has been very mature with years of development and refinement.With the help of the research results of Visual Perception,this paper applies its significant principles into architecture design and comes up with a new concept of Psychological Space of Architecture,aiming to find objective laws via more in-depth and meticulous analyses so that make our design more multiple-layered,more theoretical and more scientific.The core part of this paper is divided into three chapters,which are closely linked. The first part is to solve fundamental questions of Psychological Space of Architecture. We propose our research object and give a clear definition, after introducing the popular perception of definition and its characteristic of Physical Space of Architecture. Then we make a comparison between the two concepts and do a detailed analysis about their relationship from three aspects. Second, based on an understanding of definition and its scope of Psychological Space of Architecture,we conclude its seven spatial characteristics totally different from Physical Space of Architecture by virtue of Visual Perception and amounts of case studies. The third part, the last and the most important,which is built upon the previous section puts forwards organizing principles and change laws of perceiving strength of Psychological Space of Architecture under the influence of Visual Perception.It may help unlock the code behind architecture design and searches a method and path for better understanding and creating future design.This paper adopts great mounts of cases for research and demonstration,taking Visual Perception Theory as the theoretical framework and guidance as well as using the way of graphic to analyze every part,in order to make our presentation clearer,more intuitive and more comprehensible.
