The architectural space that people realize includes both physical space, which exists objectively and psychological space, which exists in people's mind (use 'Psychological space of the building'for short). The latter is a reaction of the people in the inner world of a specific visual-spatial,and it often guides people to more comprehensive awareness of the entire building and space. However, the current discourse on the construction of psychological space has remained mostly in the level of narrative and diagrams explainings, which lacks of systematic research, compare, and summary. This article makes some exploration in this respect. This paper use the Visual Perception Principles of the Gestalt Psychology to systematically put forward the concept of the psychological space of the building, analyse its characteristics and value, and research the froming conditions and perceiving strength of the psychological space, using a large number of examples throughout the four principles of similarity, proximity, gestalt and closure. Moreover,it considers that the psychological space of the building have both important use value, and also artistic value;it can not only help the architects to design the whole space of the building more systematically, but also help building users cognitive the space more comprehensively. In addition, if we systemicly import the theory of psychological space in the teaching process of architecture,it will undoubtedly improve students' overall perception of architectural space.
