In this paper, I would like to develop suitable evaluation software for full-time master ofengineering, in order to solve the problem of practical ability evaluation. Based on this, thisarticle focuses on three problems: what is full-time master of engineering’s practice abilityabout, why this can be measured and how to assess.Firstly, this paper studies the definition of practice ability of full-time master of engineering.Because practice ability results from practical activities, so, we use two ways to analysis thepractice ability—vertical analysis&horizontal analysis. On the vertical analysis, wecompared it with the practice of undergraduate education and higher vocational education. Inthe horizontal aspect, we compared with the practice of academic master and part-time masterof engineering. By contrast, this paper extracted the characteristics of the practice of full-timemaster of engineering, and gave the definition of practice and practice ability to the full-timemaster of engineering.The studyof the second questionabout “why” in other word is to studythe development mechanism of practice ability. We interview those students who performexcellently in practical activities, and analyze these materials and data to study thecomponents of practice ability and their roles in practice ability. We also analyze the effect ofpractice motivation, body and mind health, and personal experience on practical ability.Combined with external factors and internal factors of practical ability, this paper selectstargeted practice courses of full-time master of engineering, and study the practice abilitydevelopment mechanism in the process of problem solving. On this condition, this paperstudies the basic conditions of effective practice and the fundamental characteristics ofpractical ability.Thirdly, based on the development mechanism of practice ability of full-timemaster of engineering, we study its transformation rules as the times of problem solvingincreased. By comparing the verification of the learning curve law, this paper put forward theevaluation model of full-time master of engineering practice ability which based on the theoryof the learning curve. What’s more, we multiply the learning rate by the final ability level asevaluation method to test the effect of practice course on the promotion of practical ability.Lastly, we pick up the practice course of S university as an example, and collect data for thesake of evaluate the practice ability of full-time master of engineering.Finally, in the aspects of practical ability we could develop comprehensive evaluation system based on theevaluation model, which would be very convenient for teaching staff and researchers toevaluate the students’ practical ability.
