With the continuous development of the industrial economy,in response to future industrial changes,my country has initiated the construction of "New Engineering".The new engineering department puts forward new requirements for engineering students’ engineering practice ability.The current training mode of engineering students in universities is difficult to meet the needs of today’s industrial development.Universities need to formulate a training plan for engineering talents under the construction of new engineering courses.The evaluation of the status quo of the practical ability of college undergraduates is the prerequisite for the development of engineering talent training programs.Therefore,it is very important to construct an evaluation system for the practical ability of undergraduates from the perspective of new engineering.This research is based on the construction of the engineering practice ability evaluation system of engineering undergraduates from the perspective of new engineering.First,the general undergraduate standards of the “Excellent Engineer Training Program”,the“Washington Agreement” standards and the Chinese Engineer Education Certification(CEEAA)General Standards(2020)Edition is the basic index library,and the literature review method is used to summarize and summarize the index system of the existing research results involving the new engineering practice ability,and the index library is further supplemented according to the frequency of the appearance of the index;according to the interview method,the interview method is used for engineering undergraduates and Engineering teachers and education managers conduct in-depth interviews,extract indicators based on the interview content,and re-screen the existing indicator database;using the Delphi expert consultation method to compile a consultation questionnaire on the importance of engineering undergraduates’ engineering practical ability evaluation indicators under the new engineering perspective.Through statistical analysis of data,the rationality of the construction of the index system was verified,and finally establish a two-latitude evaluation index system,including 7 first-level indicators and 24 second-level indicators were established.Secondly,through the expert weight consultation questionnaire,based on the analytic hierarchy process,the indicator weights were determined.Finally,the Hebei Province ten universities that participated in the “New Engineering” research and practice project for the first time conducted empirical research as examples.The research shows that the engineering practice ability of college undergraduates is generally average,and there are many common problems.The main problems are the lack of engineering innovation ability,interdisciplinary learning and application ability,and teamwork ability.Combining interviews and investigations,the author deeply analyzed the reasons behind the data,and found that the professional barriers in universities are difficult to break,the understanding of disciplines is biased,and the engineering innovation system is imperfect.It also puts forward constructive suggestions to improve the engineering practice ability of engineering students in response to common problems,mainly including setting up interdisciplinary courses based on discipline integration,improving the engineering innovation system,strengthening the introduction and training of engineering practice teachers,and establishing a new school-enterprise joint laboratory or training base etc.
