For a long time, much attention has been paid to children as a special group. Weshould pay important attention to children’s physical and mental health development.As the socialization processes, the natural environment was replaced by the tallbuilding, so that most of the urban outdoor activity space exists problems now, such asadult, mechanization, simplification. People focus on adults mostly, and seldom do thereal design for children. Less and less modern children contact with nature and areinclined to play indoor games increasingly. These give rise to a series of physical andmental health, mental cognitive development and communication problems.This paper researches on child-oriented therapeutic landscape, draws a conclusionon researches conducted at home and abroad, and defines related concepts likecognition, rehabilitation and landscape. In addition, it introduces the healing therapy,adjunct therapy, and relevant theories on children psychological behavior so as toillustrate the importance of landscape in terms of rehabilitation and provide advice onapplying therapeutic landscape to medical environment and public environment design.Concerning the psychological, physiological, emotional and mental features ofchildren and discussion around the children’s outdoor activities space design principleand approaches, the paper aims to introduce natural factors, explore spiritualintroduction, artificial landscape, and pay attention to the different space of the buildand sensual stimulation for children from the whole to details. to design a health, funand safe space.At last, details are given by analyzing cases and author’s design experience. Thenthe approach of using the children’s outdoor activity space theory in landscape designas well its outlook will be demonstrated, which will help construct a positive-energylandscape featured by homelike care, humanely designed,nature ecosystem, safety fun,positive energy environment beneficial to children’s physical and mental healthdevelopment.
