In the context of China’s accession to the WTO, All of the regions in China fullyentered the commercialization process, where the greatest impact and changes arehappened in rural areas. In the process of urbanization, most of our rural areas hasbeen injected commercial factors, which affects the residential buildings in ruralareas directly. The villagers are proud of a two or three floor living house, and itsinfluence growing faster and faster, which directly affects the ancient residentialbuildings in turn. In this process, their attitude is generally divided into two types, one is the negative attitude, that removal of the ancient houses rebuilt small Western-style house direct, one is a positive attitude, to protect them by all means. Disappearor maintain, Liujiaqiao ancient houses also facing such problems. In this commercialization process, lots of the ancient residential buildings arehave been, going through or will through this change. And Liujiaqiao ancient housesis a very typically one among those buildings. As an example, the study on Liujiaqiaoancient houses will give reference and guidance to protect and develop the ancientdwellings.Through the field investigation and research for many times, I picked out fourrepresentative buildings from Liujiaqiao village, measured and compared, and studythe difference and changes between this period, and find its rule. For this fourbuildings, I researched them from the buildings geographical location, architecturalspace, building materials, construction technology and type in turn. I have researchedthe changes in Liujiaqiao ancient houses on the following aspects in recent years:Firstly, in terms of architectural style, Chinese village’s architectural style usuallywith one layer of civil engineering structures, or Caolu style. In recent years, a largenumber of rural buildings are turned into Western-style two-story building; Secondly, building materials, the use of building materials in rural China up to the tradition ofthousands of years of rammed earth, brick, wood, tile, etc., and now basically turnedinto a unified national reinforced concrete, glass and other materials; Finally, in theform of architectural expression, before the politics of reform and opening, villagesare prefer prime bare soil or the characteristics of the raw materials for decoration, butcurrently, rural housing through self-stick tiles, stucco, etc. building a large craft todecorate the surface, these changes profoundly changed the rural buildings andpeople’s lives.I still read a large number of relevant literature, compared thedata(which is researched by my tutor ten years ago). Then, I have made a record and prospect on Liujiaqiao village, based on clearly understanding its cause of formationand its process nearly30years. As a typical ancient village in China, to know it betteris make point to the ancient village architecture.
