Due to the success of new rural construction,it became a tourist village in Hubei province. It’s such a success thanks to ancientresidential learning. The ancient folk art features all of the use in the new countrysideconstruction, finally makes the whole village looks are highly harmonious unification.From this case we can see ancient dwellings have important value.Liu Jiaqiao residence belong to the Hui style architecture, but due to geographicalfeatures unique, make its different from other Huipai residential. Liu Jiaqiao residence inthe village of site selection and layout, architecture and landscape has the unique artisticcharacteristics. These characteristics of art in today has a lot of value. Such as aestheticvalue, practical value and reference value. These values for the current design hasimportant significance, especially for the construction of new countryside. This article isbased on such an understanding to the research of Liu Jiaqiao residence. Through thestudy of Liu Jiaqiao folk art characteristic, to explore its specific value, let more peoplepay attention to the ancient dwellings, summarizes a method from the ancient dwellingscan be used in current residential design method.
