With a developed perspective, residence design standardization enables better control of residential quality, and brings enhancement of technology and quality while reducing development costs, and then make better existing of the real estate business in sharp market competition.However, there are still some disadvantages in design standardization of Chinese urban residence. By studying urban residential standardization in Japan, Germany and the United Kingdom and comparing them with Chinese, we can learn their successful experience and point weakness of ours.Residential design standardization needs to constantly keep changing and developing with the pace of the era so that to satisfy the rising living standards. The future is challenging, while socio-economic and technological development will eventually bring life style changes. we should grasp its law of development and always ready to accept challenges.
