With the deepening of China’s aging and development, aging hasbecome a social problem to be solved urgently. Contradiction of Older betweenexisting outdoor leisure space and daily life, and expectation of the future outdoorspace increasing more strong over time. However, due to outdoor recreationheterogeneity of spatial distribution, weaken the right of speech, and the lack ofaccessibility for the elderly to outdoor leisure space caused them disappointment andindifference.Based on a great many previous research, through field survey and analysis bycollecting different periods and collecting lot of literature. From multiple disciplineselderly physiology, environmental behavioral psychology, sociology, LandscapeArchitecture, urban planning perspective, etc. Research in Zhengzhou City about theelderly outdoor recreation space, expect by studying this subject, change the currentsituation, to provide the elderly a convenient, comfortable and able to meet all theneeds of the outdoor space. Due to the large geographical area of Zhengzhou City, thispaper took a point to approach an area, through field surveys of the Liu Hecommunity, Shang Cheng Park, Bi Shagang Park, Cultural Park, Rose Park, Wen BoPark, using the methods of interview-based, questionnaires, behavioral observations,supplemented by the way, the use of survey points were analyzed to arrive there onthe comprehensive evaluation entrances, landscaping, paving roads, service facilities,and then finishing propose corresponding outdoor space optimizationcountermeasures. The results for an aging society on how scientific and effectiveservices for the elderly, the elderly satisfactory construction of outdoor leisure spacepresents theoretical and applicable methods.
