By setting the research background on the development status of home accessories industry, and its demand for talents, as well as the adjustment of catalogue of specialty made by the Ministry of Education, this paper carries out case study on the different design specialties in6universities at home and abroad, and conducts survey of the home accessories companies’demand for the skills of talents. Besides, the paper analyses the talent training program of the home accessories design specialties of Central South University of Forestry and Technology, and on this basis, the paper proposes some suggestions.Firstly, the paper carried out a case study on the design specialty of the German Bauhaus college, the RISD, China Central Academy of Fine Arts, Guangzhou Academy of Fine Arts, Jiangnan University, Taiwan practice university, from3perspectives:talent training objectives and requirements, curriculum provision, practical teaching. Secondly, it analyzed the status quo of China’s home accessories industry, and concluded the5major characteristics of it:opportunities and challenges existing side by side, the lagging consumer attitudes of Chinese, inadequate distribution channels, the situation of polarization, and lack of innovative brands. Around the home accessories Product Design professionals locate jobs, skill requirements, expertise, experience four dimensions of the enterprise expanded questionnaire. Finally, by analyzed the training objectives and requirements, practical aspects of teaching, curriculum module settings, several credit allocation perspective on South University of Forestry Science and Technology home accessories design professional personnel training programs and existing domestic and international product design home accessories related professional personnel training programs comparative, and combined with home accessories products business skills required of personnel proposed to develop training objectives and it must comply with the basic requirements of the development requirements of the Ministry of Education, based on the school’s characteristics and school level, training objectives and requirements must be in line with market demand; by encouraging students to participate in design competitions, through to the practical aspects of teaching in each course to strengthen the cultivation practice links; in the curriculum modules to attach importance to the design concept layers in order to design materials for the core curriculum classes, the establishment discipline-based elective large platform adding the appropriate interior design courses correspond to the five basic course perspective and discipline-based courses, specialized courses, elective basis, analyze and elaborate professional electives, and the integration of multi-disciplinary knowledge base by strengthening the link between the two courses and specialized courses direction of the curriculum integration; on the distribution of credits for required courses and elective courses, the paper suggested that the credit ratio of practical links should be expanded; required course should be reduced; and elective course should be increased.
