Research On Design Of Plant Landscape In Memorial Space

Memorial space is the place that carries ethnic and national history and culture, itreflects the social memory, the historical process of the country, the attitude of faithtowards future and the history life. In Memorial space, memorial atmospheres can becreated through the organic combination of landscape elements and the main memorial,and then achieve the goal of inheritance and memories. As an important landscapeelements, plants in the memorial space not only have the general external environmentof ornamental, ecological and economic value, but also are extremely important designelements. On the one hand, a particular type of plant is able to create a strong symbolicmemorial because the people have given a special feeling of many plants; On the otherhand, the plant landscape planting form and space combination form forcommemorative expression has its unique function, through proper treatment, it can alsocreate a good artistic conception of memory. Based on the relevant theories of plantlandscape design and the plant landscape design technique, supported by actual case,the study probes into the general principles and design countermeasures of plantlandscape design in the memorial space.This dissertation will be divided into six sections. On the basis of the analysis andreview of the research background and the research status at home and abroad, Chapter1points out the shortage of the existing research and clarifies the purpose andsignificance of the study. Chapter2interprets the concept of the memorial of plantlandscape space, and carries out a cognitive analysis on the research object from themain role of plants landscape in memorial space. Chapter3analyzes the main influencefactors of the memorial space plant landscape design, and makes a detailed analysis ofhow the cultural connotation of plants, ornamental characteristics of plants, space oflandscape plants and integration of plants with different landscape elements affect thememorial space plant landscape design. Chapter4, taking Chongqing as an example, theauthor investigates different types of memorial space, makes analysis by applying themain influence factor summarized in the last chapter to specific case. Based on casestudies, Chapter5proposes the principles and strategies of memorial plant landscapedesign. Chapter6is the conclusion of the research.To sum up, in this dissertation, the concept of "plant landscape" have been broughtup form the various design elements of commemorative space. The main influence factors memory space plant landscape design are analyzed in detail. The area where theauthor selected to investigate is Chongqing. Since it brings together Anti-Japanese Warculture, Bayu culture and the mountain city culture, Chongqing has a lot of monumentalspace resources. Through the analysis of the typical practical cases, the author strives tooffer some ideas for commemorative plants landscape design, and expects to offer ahelp in the overall design of the memory space.
