VN Company Purchasing Department Restructure After Merging And Acquisition

With increasingly fierce competition in the market in21st century, there are more and more acquisition especially in automotive industry. The acquisition of VN Company is one of them. VN company faced a lot of problems, among which, one of the biggest challenge is that the old company structure can’t match the new environment, company re-structure is extremely urgent. As one of the crucial department, purchasing department also needs to re-structure the department structure.This theory of this Paper is based on company structure theory, using the research methods of literature research, theory study and case analysis, integrating theory with practice, set to study the re-structure of purchasing department of VN Company. The thesis is mainly divided into five parts:The first chapter introduces the research background, research purpose, research content and research method on company structure in both domestic and abroad. The second chapter is theory summary, which covers the related theory of structure, including structure and strategy, structures type, emphasis on project structure and matrix structure. This provides theoretical support for the analysis VN company purchasing department structure. The third chapter introduces the current structure of VN company and purchasing department. The fourth chapter analyzes the strategic environment of VN company, analyze the purchasing environment, and listed the problems of current structure, which will be used as a reference to select the appropriate new structure. The fifth chapter is working on the new structure of VN purchasing department, setting the job responsibility of each position, team building. And by the end of the fifth chapter, there is effect evaluation after re-structure.The significance of this paper is analyzing the problems of the existing purchasing department of VN company through theory study with combination of the specific situation, and studying how to re-structure the purchasing department. The last section of the paper is the effect evaluation of the new structure. As it can be seen that the new purchasing department structure matches the company environment very well, and it is a successful re-structure. The experience can be as a reference for the purchasing department re-structure of other company which is also in the early phase after acquisition, especially those Asian company acquisition with European company.
