With the development of China’s market economy, China’s chain retail industry hasundergone enormous changes, the new economic policies to promote the developmentand growth of many excellent retail chain, the retail chain has also contributed to thetransformation of China’s economic structure. With China’s accession to the WTO,China’s retail market has been fully open to foreign-funded enterprises, Wal-Mart,Carrefour and other international retail chain giants have entered the Chinese market,local retail chain enterprises have been unable to rely on the protection of the governmentpolicy to survive, they need to rethink their strengths and weaknesses, to enhance theircompetitiveness in order to compete with foreign chain retail giant. Evaluation of anenterprise’s competitiveness requires a complete set of evaluation index system, Basedon previous research on enterprise competitiveness evaluation was designed based on aquantitative analysis of evaluation index system.Firstly, at home and abroad for the competitiveness of enterprises, retail chainenterprises competitive research summarized, respectively defined the concept ofcompetitiveness, features, and chain retail enterprise competitiveness composition. Thecharacteristics and development trend of China’s chain retail enterprises, analysis ofinternal and external factors affecting the competitiveness of China’s chain retailenterprises.Secondly, the evaluation system to build and Empirical Analysis of China’s28listed retail chain enterprises selected as the study sample, the initial choice of18evaluation index, collected28listed companies in2011, the index data. Independentsamples T-test to finalize the evaluation of the evaluation system15through the raw data.Through factor analysis, principal component analysis, the raw data analysis,evaluation index will eventually be classified as four main factors: firm size,profitability and solvency, the ability to grow, enterprise resource utilization capacity.This article briefly summarized on the overall competitiveness ranking of the28listedretail chain enterprises and individual factor ranking, conducted a comprehensiveanalysis and ranking.Finally, combined with the ranking and competitiveness evaluation systemcharacteristics, thinking about how to enhance the efficiency of the chain retailenterprises operating system from the point of view of the operation and management,improve the competitiveness of enterprises, which specifically includes: expanding the scale of operations, optimize the supply chain, to establish its own distribution center,operating system information.The research method mainly uses literature review, quantitative analysis andempirical analysis based on factor analysis. Hope that through this model,can help chainretail enterprises to rethink their own competitive advantages and disadvantage. Hope thatthrough this study, can provide a reference to follow-up studies.
