With the development of the productive forces and technology, the trend of economicglobalization is further strengthened. China is blending in more comprehensive groundeconomic globalization. The research on industrial competitiveness has become a globalsubject under this background. As an important component of the business serviceindustry, the chain retail business plays an important role in pulling the development ofnational economy and increasing employment.Although the chain retail business is gradually matured through policy supporting, itis still facing tremendous pressure from strong brands of international competition. Onone hand, there is still a big gap between China and developed countries in this field. Onthe other hand, we also have problems with imbalance in regional development andirrational structure in the process of our development. Many retailing outlets’ have greatspatial difference between developed areas and undeveloped areas.The local market is now facing a very intensive international competition. How tofully tap the use of our advantages and enhance competitiveness is a key question duringdeveloping. A lot of problems can be pursued further, such as the factors that impact theretail industry, how to create competitiveness and why there is a big gap between thedifferent regions and western countries. This paper tries to find out some positiveevidence for these problems and propose some suggestions through analyzing presentsituation for the chain retail business.
