In the new historical period of China, the retail industry develops with the overall economic development, and getting more and more attention, especially in recent years, on the basis of expanding domestic demand , readjusting the economic structure and deepening reform of the economic system , a new round of upgrading the consumption structure Started, the upgrading and transition of the residents'consumption will improve a new round of economic growth with a bigger domestic market space and economic development impetus. In this paper, based on the theory of the competitiveness, using 2006 annual report data, analysis the characteristics of the retail business deeply, proposed evaluation index system of retail competitiveness, and use factor analysis in the empirical data Research of the 31 provinces and cities, compared the competitiveness of regional differences in the retail industry, and identify the factors affecting the retail industry competition, to further enhance the competitiveness of China's retail sector, thereby promoting the improvement of regional competitiveness, playing the role of the industry in promoting the healthy and rapid development of overall economic.
