Research Rumors Spread In The New Media Environment In Emergencies

Our country is now in the transitional period and with the fast development of theeconomy, there are all kinds of social problems emerging in an endless stream, amongwhich the material and spiritual damage caused by the emergency can’t be ignored.Meanwhile, emergency often comes with the rumor. Besides, as the new mediadevelops so greatly, the spread of rumor has broken the limitations of the time and thespace,covering most places of the world. New media、emergency and the rumor eachhas great effect on China.This paper is trying to put these three aspects together, whichmeans to discussed the topic The study of rumor which emerges during the emergencyunder the circumstance of the new media. The study of this topic will undoubtedlycontribute to the elimination of the bad influence of rumorsTo clearly discussed the main idea,the paper has been divided into fourchapters.The followings are the main point of each chapter.The first chapter talks about the definition of the three keywords and then discussesthe connections of these three keywords.The second chapter analyzes the causes ofrumor from two aspects, social circumstance and psychological factors. From theperspective of communication studies, the third chapter classifies the elements in thespread of rumors, namely sender and receive、the channel、 the content and processand the effect and studies each respectively. And the fourth chapter aims at giving themeasures of the control of the rumors as the the echo of the third chapter in the samelogical way. I believe that the way of solving the negative influences of rumor can’tonly rely on the pubic, Meanwhile, it also can’t be solved by the media and thegovernment. All in all, it is high time that the public、the media and the governmentworked together to make sure the safety of society, without being disturbed by therumor.
