Oil is one of the world’s most important energy and the promotion of industrial development and social progress, has played a significant role. Oil pumping units and pipeline are distributed mostly in open field. the running status parameters measurements are of importance in the researches of crude oil exploitation and pipeline transport.To solve this problem, It is found that the movement of the steel ball in the non-return valve is closely related with the running status of the oil pumping unit. The status detector of pipeline is designed for monitoring the running status of the oil pumping unit by measuring the hitting audio signal between the valve wall and the steel ball driven by the flowing oil. Meantime the temperature of the oil is measured to monitor the wax precipitation in the pipeline.We have designed the status detector of pipeline using ARM controller to counter the problem of crude oil exploitation and pipeline transport. In hardware, we have designed power module, NAND Flash memory module, SDRAM module, audio signal sampling module, the temperature signal signal sampling module, LCD module based on Samsung’s S3C2440A controller. In software, we have transplanted u-boot-1.1.6, linux-2.6.30operating system, and made file system using busybox tools. Meanwhile we Programmed application. Based on the above, we can real time monitor the status of crude oil exploitation and pipeline transport by sampling, analyzing, processing and displaying the audio signal and temperature signal.Meanwhile, The audio signal and temperature measurement circuits are developed and integrated to the non-return valve. A criterion of oil pump running status identification is proposed through combining the audio signal and temperature information. Finally, the experimental platform is designed and tested. The experimental results show that the intelligent non-return valve can effectively identify the operating status of the oil exploitation and pipeline transport, such as normal operating status, intermittently operating status and wax precipitation status. The performances of the intelligent non-return valve satisfy the requirements of the crude oil exploitation and pipeline transport.
