With the rapid development of networks and communication technology, the remote monitor control system is more and more important in the industry control field. In many industrial occasions, especially for some distributed and no watcher sites such as oil field, we need to collect the real time data to know the situation of the sites in time and to do real-time control. General traditional remote monitoring systems need to build and maintain a communication network, and this needs to spend much more on investment and maintenance. With the development of communication technique, the traditional remote monitoring system has been unable to meet various requirements, and the market needs a combination of function and the production remote monitoring system has integrated, stable performance, low cost of network construction and reliable communication.So in this paper we study on the application of a wireless remote intelligent monitor control system based on GPRS. Based on this system we study on a remote intelligent monitor control system for pumping unit, and this system can not only realize wireless remote monitoring and control, but also can realize energy saving by using intelligent load-balanced and dynamic reactive power compensation technology. In this system GPRS network is a medium for transmitting the remote signal. There are mainly three parts in this system, which are spot collecting sub-system, data transmit network subsystem and monitoring center software. Spot collecting subsystem collects data, such as voltage, electric current. It can also send and receive data and control pumping unit. Data transmission network adopts GPRS communication module, accomplish data transmit from collecting to monitoring center. Monitoring center software can analyze, process, store the data that spot collected and diagnose the malfunction of pumping unit.Firstly, in this paper it presents a simple introduction of GPRS network's system structure and principle. Then it presents the principle and function of every part of the remote intelligent monitoring system of pumping. After analyzes in detail the field application effects of the system, some significant conclusions are obtained.
