Analysis Of Homosexual Reports By The Perspective Of Health Communication

Homosexual are ubiquitous in human society since ancient times. In different historical periods, the public awareness and perception of public on homosexuality has gone through a long process. Homosexuality has always been a controversial topic in China. With the development of science, medicine and technology, homosexuality is no longer to be known as "criminal"," disease ". The homosexual community has also been understood further. April2001,"China Classification and diagnostic criteria of mental disorders homosexuality removed from the list of mental disorders to achieve a non-pathology of homosexuality. After that, many literature, film and television work appears in the public view. It is a problem worthy of study that media coverage of how homosexuality from the perspective of health communication.In this paper, the theoretical framework, health communication, agenda setting, stereotype theory are used as the theoretical support of the study. Reports on homosexual from Phoenix in the period2009-2013are sampled to be analyzed. The results showed reports of Phoenix on homosexuality are quite objective overall, and contributed to the " non-disease " of homosexuality. It is also has a certain contribution to the expansion of positive impact on gays. But medical-related research reports are quite lack, and the reproduced reports are mighty uneven. The images of homosexuality are treated very differently.Finally, the article shares some reflet about the research, and gives some suggestions on homosexuality media reports.
