In2007, The Leader Group of College and University’s Undergraduate Teaching Quality and Teaching Improvement Project decided to start a project named "National Basic Database System of Colleges and Universities". At May23rd,2011,"National Basic Database System of Colleges and Universities" passed the achievement check and was put into use. The application of "National Basic Database System of Colleges and Universities" highly improved the teaching management ability and the level of information usage.Now the management of teaching in colleges and universities is loose and students’teaching evaluation is not objective enough, which reducing teachers’ teaching motivation. Old check method mainly included roll call and registration, both of them have shortcomings including personate, occupation of teaching time and low efficiency.. The terminal designed in this paper is a part of a teaching improvement project named "The Platform Building and Data Analysis of National Basic Database System of Colleges and Universities" and its target is to further improve the level of Qingdao University’s teaching management ability, and to provide true data to analyze teaching status.In this paper, on the basis of analyzing the terminal’s application scenario, the system’s software and hardware formulas are designed. The terminal’s hardware requirement is high, so S5PV210based core board Smart210is chosen as hardware development platform, and a base board is designed. In hardware, main hardware modules are completed, such as power supply with Lithium Battery circuit, Ethernet and sound interfaces, UART interface, SDIO Wi-Fi interface, key interface, LCD and touch screen interface, micro SD interface, USB Host and USB OTG interface. Key points of PCB design is also analyzed. In software, porting of Qt Embedded and root file system’s building are implemented. Data base design is analyzed in focus, core modules of the software including DAO, communication protocol and fingerprint recognition realization are analyzed in detail. Finally, the software is deployed in the hardware and they are tested together.
