| After the failure of the fifth Counter-Campaign against "Encirclement and Suppression", the Red Army started the Long March. This essay researches Mao Zedong’s new ideology based on materials of the Red Army’s propaganda work when it marched to Guizhou Province. It will discover Mao Zedong’s news ideology and news exercise after the foundation of the Chinese Communist Party by reviewing Mao’s news thoughts in the Long March. Mao always insisted that journalism is the most important method to guide the revolution. Moreover, it gained him rich theories of journalism and experience, forming his special news ideology with Chinese characteristics and further developing Marx’s journalism, which make huge contributions to the foundation and development of China proletarian journalism. It is worth researching under the conditions of the Long March how Mao’s thoughts became the news ideology with Chinese characteristics, how it contributed to mature Mao’s thoughts, and how the Red Army won the civil war.This research uses Content analysis method and Literature method. With Content analysis method, it analyzes materials representing Mao’s news ideology during the Long March, including publications, poems, watchwords, and rules and regulations. This research comprises three parts:1.The research of the history when the Red Army stayed in Guizhou. This part contains three segments. The first segment introduces the basic information of Guizhou in1930s, including its politics, economy, and social environment under Kuomintang’s ruling. The second segment reveals the routes of the Red Army in Guizhou, Zunyi Meeting, and Crossing Chishui He for four times. The third segment is about the public opinion environment when the Red Army arrived in Guizhou.2. Based on the former introduction of Guizhou, this part mainly focuses on how the Red Army, under the leadership of Mao, earned its reputation in Guizhou after Zunyi Meeting, taking a further step in researching the formation of Mao’s news thoughts. It traces to the sources of Mao’s news exercise and his strategies.3. By researches and analysis above, it validates the Long March in Guizhou is not only a historical watershed for the Chinese Communist Party, but also a successful propaganda exercise strategies under the leadership of Mao. |
