The specific character of Mao Zedong bas been derived out to many fictional images from the original image, from the photographer’s lens to drawings wood carvings, sculptures of artists, and other media such as badges. Among researches of the image of Mao Zedong, the studies of Art account for in the most majority role. These researches are based on the analysis of Mao’s photographs, paintings, sculptures, badges and stamps on different levels, however, the researches of Media works are mainly cases which focus on the analyses and comparisons among media graphs which are associated to Mao. The starting point is different, but the goals of these researches are to reveal the connections among policy, economic and cultures better. Although the political ideology can t be ignored, in modern consumer society which under the socialist market economic system, we should pay more attention on the macroscopic environment of mass culture and consumption culture and analyze how the image of Mao has evolved from a symbol of political propaganda to the consumer objects by a microscopic view. Meanwhile, the changes of modern lifestyle consumption ideas are worthy considering.Firstly, the development of Mao’s image in different periods are stated chronologically, then the process of creation and presentation in movies and TV shows of Mao are systematically analyzed. Finally, reasons of the changes of Mao’s images and its meanings are discussed. Our study suggests that a series of images of Mao reflects the perfusion to people from the national ideology. Usually, the image of Mao is always associated with a superior state which overlook the choices of people, and always with a superior attitude to overlook the choice of the people, while the people’s choice has been gradually gotten rid of its authority constraints during its historical developments. Nowadays, the name title, Mao Zedong, is beyond the characterization of a real people. Its meaning has become an element that is involved with multiple components, and a post-modern symbol that can map out broad social significances.
