Routing technology is one of the key technology of wireless sensor network(WSN), according to different application environment, there has been a varietyof wireless sensor network routing protocol. Which directed diffusion (DD)routing protocol is a typical data-centric wireless sensor network routingprotocol, it has a simple, easy extension, without having to maintain thecharacteristics of the whole network routing information, however, Directeddiffusion routing protocol flood to broadcast the interest in the interest spreadstage using, interest in the news a lot of redundancy and the huge loss of energy,and in the data transmission phase using a single path for data transmission,makes in a single path of node failure due to the excessive loss of energy, whichaffect the network lifetime. Aiming at the shortcomings of the directed diffusionprotocol, this paper combined with network coding technology to study. Themain work is as follows:At first, the paper realize the nodes in the network stratification and makethe interest message transmitted between layer and layer, reduces the interestspread of repetition greatly in the interest of directional diffusion process, thelevel is added in the interest in news information and signal strength (RSSI),. Atthe same time, record each node RSSI values of each transmission path in amatch is found the data source node at the same time, it can determine anoptimal path for data transmission, reducing the time delay.Secondly, the paper in view of the directional diffusion process of datatransmission in the network node,it on the basis of stratified according to thesource node interest table item of the same interest in the interest of differentaddress messages to determine the source node the node number of the layer,and determine the source node and the number of minimal path between the nodes. Then,we combined with network coding data transmitted in the multiplepaths. Network coding allow intermediate nodes to forward the data encodedcombination operation, and is no longer just limited to the traditional model ofstore and forward. Based on the combination of random linear network codingin the process of data transmission, the balance of network, the average energyconsumption, improve the network throughput.Finally, the paper use the NS2network simulation tools to design of routingprotocols are simulated and analyzed. Simulation results show that with theincrease of network size, the new protocol in network interesting messageredundancy decreased significantly, the node energy consumption greatlyreduced on average, compared with traditional DD protocol, node averageenergy consumption can reduce by about40%, and the network throughputdoubled on average.
