With the advancement of sensor, micro-controllers and wireless communications, the Wireless Sensor Network which become one of the most important computer technology in the 21 century has been developing fast. Wireless sensor network is being used widely, so more and more people are very interested in it. Wireless sensor network consisting of lots of sensor nodes which form a multi hop self-organize network system through wireless communications. The information which happened in the network cover area was collect, sensor, deal used by the system and then send to the observer. The node is limited in resource and the resource can't be replaced. So the primary problem of designing routing protocol is how to save the resource.Directed diffusion that is a routing protocol of wireless sensor network is a data-centric and based on inquiries. The paper stresses the process of routing mechanisms of directed diffusion. An idea about saving resource of sensor node for data information and reinforce is presented, at last stresses NS-2. The paper analysis energy consumption, the rate of lossing, the time of node failure of network by many experimental. The simulation results show that the DD that improved saving resource is effective, the lossing of packet is reduce, then extend the node's working time, increase the network's lifetime.In the last, I have a summary on the thesis, and look into the prospect of future research work.
