Polarizations Phenomenons Of Internet And The Counter-measure Researches

Because of the internet communication technology grows up so quickly, the phenomenon of "group polarization" in the real society also appears in the virtual world."Group polarization" phenomenon, which under the current social contradictions of fierce Background, is linked to the group events and social hot spots. Frequent happened events in real society and cyber world increase the chance of occurring catching eyeball events on the internet world. Therefore,"group polarization" phenomenon has urgent need for academic concerns and research. In this paper, the research of current internet group polarization phenomenon in China includes the aspects of:types, causes and countermeasures. The research is under the perspective of communication studies, based on the status of the network of group polarization, using all sorts of theories from communication, journalism, sociology, social psychology etc.This paper based on three main issues to discuss group polarization phenomenon:what、why and how. It starts a point of view from social psychology and communication, which is on the foundation of group polarization. The article discuss about the internet communication environment, analyze the link between conformity of thoughts、group unconsciousness and group polarization phenomenon, discussed the classic theory of Communications in the group polarization phenomenon: the spiral of Silence Theory、the Agenda Setting Function Theory and Two Levels of Communication Theory.Afterward, in the paper, the author discusses the main types of group polarization phenomenon from three views of the internet nationalism, internet populism and internet ethics. The author chooses three major cases which happened in recent two years to support his theories: China-Japan Diaoyu Islands issue, Mr.Li Gang’s rape case and Wenling teacher abuses children case.Further more, the author talks about the three main causes of group polarization phenomenon from his social and cultural roots, Internet Group Polarization propagation technology reason, and the audience psychological origin. China opened its door to the world almost30years now; the society has moving into a deep transition period. The change of social structural、the move of society、differentiation of social status、 the popularity of mass-culture and the culture become more pop are the social and cultural roots of polarization phenomenon. The virtual、 anonymous、instant message exchange、personal and lack of internet network regulations are the technical reasons of Internet Group Polarization propagation.The audience psychological origin reasons are: conformity of thoughts、group unconscious mind and group infections and manipulation.Finally, the paper gives suggestions from four aspects:build up complete internet laws and regulations, give government more power and techniques the control the internet, websites moral self-discipline, and the mature of internet users. The paper has a point of view that the internet network needs government control as the real world. Currently, the internet network administration system has many defects:bull management、cross-function、responsibilities not match rights and inefficiency etc. The internet network administration system needs to borrow experiences from developed countries, build up complete internet laws and regulations, provide the government with more power and techniques to regulate the internet, moral self-discipline, and the mature of internet users. Therefore, it can prevent the negative influences of network group polarization and broadcasting its positive power.In this article, the network group polarization is recognized as a "double-bladed sword". It has its positive side value, but it also has its negative influences. If we don’t try to control the network group polarization, the negative influences has bigger impact than the positive side. This research hopes bringing further researches and discusses.
