At present, much attention focused on Internet of Things (IoT) technology in the international, and our country also placed great attention on it. A lot of new applications based on the IoT are appearing and people are eager to see it could take great change to their lives, just like what computer technology and internet technology did before. It’s a highlight to apply the Internet of Things to intelligentize home facilities. In this context, we choose some aspects which people care most, like environment monitoring, equipment remote control and home security as the research center of this paper, and explore the applications of them based on the IoT. Research of the paper is of significance on promotion of the IoT, development of the IoT and improve smart house technology.This paper briefly introduces the domestic and foreign research status of the development of the IoT, and mainly studies the key of indoor security monitoring system based on the IoT technology. On the basis of the analysis of the existing intelligent household monitoring system, this paper puts forward a complete set of embedded indoor security monitoring system solutions by using its successful experience reference.The system is developed by the embedded development platform Samsung S5PV210plate, ZigBee wireless CC2530module, minimum Atmega128single-chip microcomputer system, GSM/GPRS communication module, USB camera and peripheral control circuit, and it is mainly used for remote monitoring of indoor environment, video, and the indoor equipment for remote control. The ZigBee wireless sensor network (WSN) is mainly for entry test and environment test.When dangerous situation occurs indoor, the system can send information or make a phone call to remind the user through the GSM module. And the user can remote login system, remote viewing indoor video, remote control room equipment, and handle the dangerous situation in a timely manner.This paper gives the overall design scheme of system including the detailed design of hardware and software aspects. The physical system of hard and soft alignment test shows that the system can realize entry testing and environmental monitoring and alarm of dangerous situation. And the remote users can take advantage of the mobile terminal device or PC for remote video monitoring and remote intelligent control of household equipment, intelligent systems, digital degree is high, good user interactivity.
