Based on the project of the system of plume pipe rack, an experimental platform has been developed in this paper. In order to finalize the design of the existing general motion control scheme, multiaxial NC motion platform is taken as object of study. It will become a reference for similar research projects in the future.Firstly, the composition, developping situation, characteristics and general design steps of the mechanical and electrical integration, the development trend of the numerical control system and NC machine tools, and the related knowledge of finite element analysis have been introduced. Through analysing the function of the multiaxial NC motion platform, the design of mechanism and its control system are completed. The motion control scheme based on industrial PC with motion control card MC2210is proposed.Secondly, mechanical structure parts of multiaxial NC motion platform are finished by using Pro/Engineer, and the assembly is completed. The solid modeling of one type of printed circuit board NC drilling machine is built by Pro/Engineer, and ANSYS is applied for modal analysis. In this paper, the key influential factors of the structure of drilling machine are found out, the structure is improved and two prioritization schemes are proposed.The primary structure and the two optimial structures of the machine tool bed are analyzed compared.The results show that the optimization improves the dynamic property and the machining precision of the drilling machine.Finally, according to the control demand of multiaxial NC motion platform, the control software with friendly interface is developed based on the MFC development environment. Three motion patterns of multiaxial NC motion platform are designed and realized. They are single shaft linear motion, linear interpolation and circular interpolation.The test results show that the request of stability, fast, accurate and operability are met. It can provide a reference for other similar projects.
