In view of the wide application of motion control platform of poor expansibility and the defect of low control precision, it is difficult to achieve more than one axis and precise motion control characteristics and some space Institute of radio technology actual project, had studied one kind based on the LabVIEW five axis motion control system, not only to facilitate the realization of motion shaft expansion, and achieve micron level precision.First, the paper analysis the basic control principle of motion control, the basic classification of the motion controller and the motion control technology development status and trends at home and abroad, discussed an open multi-axis motion control system based on PC and PMAC motion control card. In this way, the PC is only responsible for the human-computer interaction and system maintenance, motion control card is the core of motion control; the main features are performed by the motion control card. This paper describes a multi-axis motion control system based on PMAC, the windows operating system and software development tools LabVIEW.Second, the paper describes the software development language LabVIEW, introduces the basic concept of modular programming language, application field, programming environments, the basic operation template, the basic steps of the design of virtual instruments with LabVIEW, LabVIEW calls the external interface, and synchronous control technique, summarizes the LabVIEW features and advantages.Third, the paper describes the system's hardware and software. Hardware part is an open architecture combination of PC and motion control card, PC as the hardware platform, combined with superior control performance of motion control card, American Kollmorgen Company's linear motor, servo motor and drive, together with the high-resolution grating to achieve motion control. Based on windows operating system, the software uses a graphical programming language designed man-machine interface, Ethernet communication module, data acquisition module, motion control module, graphics and coordinate the display module, the motor status display module and data storage module and other procedures.Finally, on the hardware platform debugging system software, the experiment results show that the motion control system can not only meet user requirements, to achieve a variety from of movement, and to meet the performance indicators to achieve high positioning accuracy and control accuracy. The software uses the idea of modular design, improve the reusability of modular, can easily achieve to function expansion and system upgrades, and relatively short development cycle. Finally, raised the problems in the design is easy to improve system performance.
