Where are we going dad has become successful in a short period of time since it was broadcast on Chinese television station in October2013.Where are we going dad is a South Korean Original TV Program which was imported from Munhwa Broadcasting Corporation Television Station. Where are we going dad could stand out from a crowd of numerous TV program. Many people are curious about its success and show great interest in the experience obtained from its localization.With where are we going dad and its Korean version being compared in this article, I will research the localization of where are we going dad, including inheritance, continuity, improvement and development. In the time of the Korean wave, this article aims to provide experience how to succeed in the localization for countless South Korea original introduction programs.Where are we going dad retained the outstanding part of the original program, for example the content, the choice of guests, and the classic program settings according to Chinese specific national conditions and the Chinese audience viewing habits and preferences, the program made the adjustment of the localization on the manufacture methods including shaping multiple characters and complex relationships, teaching through lively activities, deepening the content, enhancing the level of program and clearly showing education significance. The program made an adjustment to the localization on the editing rhythm and the way of producing and broadcasting to blend in the local conditions and customs of Chinese characteristics. To sum up, where are we going dad has finished the localization of an original imported TV program. Finally it realized the enormous success of the program.The significance of the research conclusion in this article lies in the experience provided for more South Korean Original Programs and even foreign programs imported by China. Learning from successful localization of where are we going dad benefits more and more introduced programs to succeed in localization, and importantly motivates.the innovation and development of Chinese television industry.
