Content Production&Development Strategies Of South Korean Web-Dramas

Concepts of web-dramas in South Korea(ROK)and China(PRC)are differentiated through their development process,furthermore,they are unique from other states' products as well.For that reason,the background research of this paper will focus on below factors.First,influential elements as to Korean fashioned web-drama production;one of them is so-called “snack culture”,this means a quick habit of consuming information and cultural resources,and is becoming representative of the Korean cultural scene.In Korean fashioned web-drama that is fast-changing web-based content spawns new pop sub-genres.Second,the Korean web-dramas development process;rudimentary stage,expansion stage,and proliferation stage.This could be divided into three stages.Third,the uniqueness of Korean web-dramas;for this article has described from the beginning of the content making,consuming environment,and commerce.These three facets were researched by means of documentation analysis and case study.Content making and consuming environment have been studied on the chapter two,and commerce features has been analyzed on the chapter three.At the chapter three,PLAYLIST has been a case for the study of commercial model.The reasons PLAYLIST has been a specimen is its leading position of Korean web-drama market,hence,it is proper for analyzing profitability of the commerce aspect in the development process.Finally,the chapter four is the result of the research of analyzing Korean web-drama market.Demonstrating detailed limitations of current Korean market and suggestions for it.For there were absence of this kind of researches,this paper has more focused on current situation of Korean web-dramas and its characteristics.Additionally,through PLAYLIST analysis the study has been conducted.Thus,for this reason this comes to creativeness of its own and hoping this be a contribution for the future researches.
