As the rapid development of China’s economy and the expansion of the city, the development of car of the society has been also very fast. These developments caused traffic congestion, frequent traffic accidents and other social issues and also directly or indirectly caused social issues such as economic losses, environmental pollution and reduced social efficiency.These problems above have become important factors to impede social development. With covering wireless networks such as3G,4G and Wi-Fi, the users of smartphone are becoming more and more. This phenomenon provides convenience for smartphones’real-time data transmission and processing. According to Ai Media Consulting Research data, in the second half of2013, China Mobile Maps users reached to420million with an increase of8.6%, meanwhile, Android’s share has further expanded to74.5%in the distribution aspect of China’s smartphone operating system market.In the above context, by drawing on Intelligent Transportation Systems (Intelligent Transportation System, ITS) thoughts, the thesis used the technology of the integration of the mobile Internet, communication technology and terminal positioning technology on the existing vehicle systems to build a road map based on Android traffic flow service guidance system. On the road, using the map services provided by the mobile terminal, it can position by communication network or GPS and upload your own latitude, longitude, speed, direction of travel, traveling altitude and other information to the server via3G,4G or Wi-Fi wireless network. The terminal also can upload the special traffic event pictures and descriptive information to the server, which not only can increase the credibility of the event, but also can help the user to view. After computing and extracting the data in the server, the server can get real-time road traffic flow, then the traffic information feedback to the user in order to improve travel efficiency. Traffic information includes current traffic flow conditions, special traffic incident, the construction and maintenance of roads and road conditions closed to traffic.In this thesis, the client of traffic guidance system was designed and implemented. The client system is user-centred, it provides rich map services to the user. In terms of functionality, the client can not only upload data and display real-time traffic flow, but also can provide users with a query for location information and then can display the information, map mode switching. The system can also provide the path planning based on the start and the end, a location-based approach path planning, route voice navigation. Additionally, it can remind the user while approaching the end. The system can help user to find a specific location and display the detailed information about interest surrounding of the query places and display the address and picture information. Using the system, it can record driving track and traveling distance and then dynamically display in the upper of the map location based services (Location Based Service, LBS) by the secondary development of Google Maps mapping service. These functions can meet the map service needs of the mobile terminal user.
