As the urban highway gradually become the network and the requirement of roadway is increasing, the phenomenon of traffic jam is more and more serious. Actually ,the highway network is not over busy all the time and the space. If the dynamic traffic information of the roadway network is obtained in time, and people take full advantage of the resource of the traffic system, in the case of the roadway equipment is not increased, the continually increased transportation requirement will be fulfilled by improving the using efficiency of road network and security. Thus, the technology of the traffic flow information collection has become one of the important technology in ITS(Intelligent Transport System).The thesis synthetically analyze the advantage and disadvantage of the latest traffic flow collection technology and GPS equipped floating vehicle traffic flow collection technology, and describes a fusion algorithm which based on the loop technology and GPS equipped floating vehicle collection. The space vehicle speed adjust ratio is converted according to the high precision vehicle instantaneous speed which is collected by the ground sense loop detector and the space speed which is collected by floating vehicle, and then, the appropriate parameter is chosen to adjust the obtained space speed which is gotten by floating vehicle, so that the high precision road average speed is gained. This fusion algorithm makes up the disadvantage result from the restrict of a section of a highway where the ground loop detector is fitted and of the type of the floating vehicle, moreover, the precision of the fused date nearly approach the one of the actual date. According to the optimum path network power, the thesis uses the Dijkstra algorithm carry out the optimum traffic flow guidance. According to the analysis of the fusion algorithm and the traffic requirement of Guangzhou road network, the thesis establishes the design object about Guangzhou road network and comes up with the detailed method to solve the traffic jam in Guangzhou road network.Finally, describing the simulation of the algorithm in the flat of Matlab6.0 and the application in Guangzhou road network, the thesis indicate that the fusion algorithm is feasible and it can be used in the actual project very well.
