In recent years, along with the continuous enhancing of campus informatization level as well as the construction of digitized campus projects, teaching, research, work and living on campus depend more and more on the campus network platform which gradually becomes basic platform that supports various kinds of application systems. Network is one of the basic facilities on campus and its importance for the overall daily operation of higher institution tells its own tale. Therefore, the stability, reliability and security of campus network attract more and more attention. That making scientific and reasonable plan and adjustment for network structure and optimizing security of campus network are really important in order to improve the overall performance of campus network.Based on the network of Shanghai Institute of Technology and the problems occurred after the acceptance of the campus network of Fengxian Campus, this thesis analyzes the existing defects of the project and proposes optimization program so as to gradually construct the network of Shanghai Institute of Technology into a structured, safe and reliable network with unified management. From the aspects of the adjustment of campus network structure, reconfiguration and change of global IP addresses, multilevel arranging of firewall systems and the improvement of servers’data exchange, the thesis proposes a method that optimize campus network structure and network security and forms commonly used campus network optimization program. Finally, the thesis puts forward its expectation to further improve campus network system from the aspects such as unified storage management.
