Xichang College Campus Network Construction Design And Realization

Campus Network is the integration of all functional modules on campus,such as teaching,laboratory practice,office work,library,student dormitories and staff living quarters.Thus providing a platform for school management,education and scientific research,e-learning,distance education,etc.Once linked to Internet,schools are able to carry out technological exchanges and cooperation and other operations with outside world.In order to realize all these functions,it requires that the campus network should be a practical system with high reliability,high efficiency,high scalability and high security.Xichang College is a newly established four-year college,which amalgamated with several colleges.With the development of this newly merged college,its running level must be improved and its recourses must be optimized.Of all the considerations, the construction of a better campus network should be the prior one.Before the amalgamation,networks in former campuses could no longer satisfy the demands for education and regular work.Now it is urgent to re-plan and reconstruct a new and better network system based on the original ones.In this paper,the author analyses the current situation of the campus network system in Xichang College,ranging from its network equipments,applications as well as its deficiencies.On this basis,the author puts up some new construction objectives. As far as the demand for network applications are concerned,the author will mainly discuss the existing problems and requirements that is to be solved in campus networks.This paper will focus on the campus network system planning and design.On the basis of the campus network topology and according to the principles and thoughts of the campus network design,the characteristics of network system,the technical analysis and requirements and based on the perspective of economy,the author puts forward a campus network planning,including the design of subnets and IP addresses, routing strategy,network services,inter-campus interconnection,network security, network equipments,network links and exports.The author also implements the main process of the plan and design with the network equipments available in specific circumstances.In the final step,the author conducts a test and analysis on the finished network,and summarizes the characteristics and inadequate of the network-building programs.
