The rise of China’s women’s fashion magazine in the1920s, but it is a great development and prosperity in the future in the1980s. It has emerged in the elite from the date of birth. The middle class as a clear service object, which will make it inevitably marked by the stigma of elite culture. However, under the background of popular culture to flourish, the pursuit of fashion is no longer a patent upper class society, the general public but also with the same enthusiasm to catch up with fashion craze. In order to obtain the widest audience and maximize the business benefits, women’s fashion magazines embarked on commercial development path, which makes it more and more obvious mass cultural traits. Overall, a audience targeting, packaging production and content covered a gorgeous coat for women’s fashion magazine. But behind this false face, exhibiting the more popular culture characteristics. As a result, today’s women’s fashion magazine actually contains both the elite culture and mass culture,which contradictory and mutually coexistence cultural patterns.Based on the analysis of female fashion magazine, explore the two cultural patterns of women’s fashion magazines, which in order to provide theoretical reference for contemporary harmony elite culture and mass culture, but also to provide some references for the better development of women’s fashion magazine. The first part of the paper analyzes the existence of women’s fashion magazine in the elite cultural traits mainly located from the audience, text content and packaging production three aspects. The second part analyzes the trends of popular culture presented in women’s fashion magazines, including the popular culture of entertainment, recreational, standardization, commodity and so on. The third part of the subject involved in the paper, that our women’s fashion magazines are showing elite culture and mass culture contradictions and conflicts, this section analyzes the contradiction between the two cultures in the aesthetic interest and value orientation. Chapter IV and Chapter III corresponds mainly related harmony of elite culture and mass culture in female fashion magazines.
