With the development of modern western capitalist society, consumerism culture forms at the beginning of the 20th century, which biggest feature is flaunting, extravagance and vogue, and takes immoderate material enjoyment and amusement as a way of life. During the formation of consumer culture, mass media plays the role as conspirator. Through various medium means and social consuming system, it integrates cultural behavior and consumption behavior as a unit. And as the result of propagating consumerism culture, it wins the more masses. Depending on each other, both consumerism culture and mass media expand quickly. To cater the consumerism culture better, mass media transforms its contents and way of expression continuously, and produces some new media products, such as woman's fashion magazine. To reveal how the woman's fashion magazine, under the name of vogue, makes consumerism culture affect the public's daily life, this text is going to study the internal woman's fashion magazine from three aspects: development and operation, text and version, ideology and values. Through the analysis we cannot only grasp its feature of consumerism culture, but also understand the relationship between consumerism culture and mass media. It is inevitable that mass media conspires with consumerism culture because of its born characteristics. And it must be realized clearly that this kind of conspiratorial relationship has lead to some negative influence: the principal function of media fades gradually, the contents is homogenous, cultural imperialism has been a global problem. When we face these influence, we must do a science, objective analysis and the thinking.
